Overview
For five years I made motion and design work for Google through Long Story Short Media, first as an employee and, since June 2026, as a freelancer. The work spanned three formats: screen content for global events, branded video graphics, and e-learning design.
Long Story Short Media produced the video and screen content.
My Contribution
Events. I built screen content for a series of simultaneous global events. Resolutions, aspect ratios, and countries all differed from venue to venue, and the content had to look identical on every one.
Video. The videos Long Story Short Media produced for Google were primarily short-form, containing lower thirds, title cards, full screens, end logos, and any other graphics each piece needed. For a multi-series collection, I built a system containing a library of MOGRTs, plus a tracking and QC process that delivered a graphics package totaling over 1,000 renders.
E-learning. Across three courses, I designed and delivered the visual layer with my team: PNGs, GIFs, brand guidelines (within Google's own branding), and assets for interactive elements.
Highlight
I enjoyed getting to work with Google's branding over five years. Through the dozens of projects and formats, having a deep exposure to and knowledge of their brand was an exciting challenge in terms of consistency and voice. The subtle details are what make their design language stand out.
Results
I worked on this as an employee of Long Story Short Media, and later as a freelancer. Google and Long Story Short kept bringing me back across live events, video, and e-learning for five years, and that continued trust is what I'm proudest of.
